Michael Macnab

Michael Macnab has 20 years of experience in information accessibility, developing markets, finance and hyperscale internet. He has led mobile-based product launches in developing markets across Asia for international corporations and collaborations with nonprofit organizations.

Over the past seven years, Michael has worked with the world’s largest internet hyperscalers. He currently leads global strategy for multiple product lines within Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and previously led long-term investment planning and international expansion strategy for Amazon Web Service (AWS).

Prior to his time at Google and Amazon, Michael spent 10 years in Southeast Asia, where he developed a passion for addressing developing market challenges, such as information access and financial inclusion. He has experience scaling remittance and mobile payment systems with telecom providers Singapore Telecom and venture fund Softbank. Michael also served on the board (2012-2016) of 8 Villages, an Information-Communication-Technology company focused on disseminating agricultural information/education to small holder farmers in Southeast Asia.
